Paddy Bevin has beaten some of cycling's biggest names to win the second stage of the Tour Down Under in South Australia
17 January 2019
Bevin has beaten three-time world champion Peter Sagan, Australian talent Caleb Ewan and Elia Viviani who some regard as the world's best sprinter.
It's the first stage win by a New Zealander in a World Tour stage since Jesse Sergent's win on the Eneco Tour in 2011.
Bevin says winning wasn't the goal at the beginning of the stage, but he got the perfect springboard to a tricky finish.
