All Whites coach Fritz Schmid has finally been able to meet up with his skipper

A freak injury last March has meant Winston Reid has been out of football action for both his English Premier League club West Ham and New Zealand.

Schmid says from his understanding, Reid is incredibly committed to pulling back on the national jersey.

He says on the other hand, he'll give Reid as much time as he needs to get back on the pitch and as soon as he's ready, he'll be called up.

Fritz Schmid says he's hoping to secure a match for the All Whites in March.
