Three children and a grandmother were among the seven injured in a major crash north of Taupo last night
19 January 2019
It happened at the intersection of the Thermal Explorer Highway and Huka Falls Road just after 5.
The children, who are all aged under 10, and a grandmother, were flown to Waikato Hospital.
Two boys remain in hospital - one in serious condition, while the other is stable.
A girl was discharged today, but a woman in her 60s remains in the intensive care unit.
It comes days after nurses at Waikato Hospital's emergency department made a plea on social media for people to drive carefully.
