The Silver Ferns and South Africa are underway in extra time of their Quad Series netball test in London, after finishing 45-all

The Silver Ferns and South Africa are underway in extra time of their Quad Series netball test in London, after finishing 45-all

The Ferns, who had led by as many as eight goals in the first quarter, were reeled in by the Proteas who tied the game up by three-quarter time.

The two sides went toe-to-toe in the final quarter, with Ameliaranne Ekenasio sending the match to extra time with five seconds left in regulation.

The Ferns have only ever lost once to South Africa - at the 1995 World Champs.
