Sam Webster and Ethan Mitchell have recorded identical times in qualifying for the men's sprint to advance fourth and fifth fastest respectively, with trade team rider Zac Williams 21st.
Natasha Hansen has edged Belgium's World Champion Nicky Degrendele to finish second in heat one of the women's Keirin, while trade team rider Olivia Podmore has come home second in heat three
Both New Zealanders advance to tonight's second round.
