A New Zealand cannabis company's been granted permission to cultivate 16 new varieties of the drug

Ruatoria based Hikurangi Cannabis Company has also been given the go ahead to import the first high-THC strains under new biosecurity rules.
THC is the main psychoactive compound found in cannabis.
An amendment to the company's license was issued by the Ministry of Health last week.
Until now, only low-THC strains were permitted under New Zealand law.
