Roger Federer, Marin Cilic and Angelique Kerber have been among those to exit the Australian Tennis Open fourth round

Roger Federer, Marin Cilic and Angelique Kerber have been among those to exit the Australian Tennis Open fourth round

20-year-old Stefanos Tsitsipas has claimed a four-set victory over defending champion Federer, Cilic has lost to Roberto Bautista Agut in five sets across four hours, and second-seed Kerber went down in straight sets to Danielle Collins.

Rafael Nadal and Francis Tiafoe advanced - as did Kiwi Michael Venus with partner Raven Klaasen from the men's doubles third round.

The Silver Ferns have beaten South Africa 62-60 in extra time of their final Quad Series netball match, which finished 45-all in regulation.

Wellington have defended their Twenty20 Super Smash cricket title in a last-ball thriller against Canterbury at Eden Park Outer Oval.

The Blaze have chased 131 to win by four wickets with Suzie McDonald and Jess Kerr scampering for a single as Frankie Mackay attempted to throw down the stumps in her follow-through.

Auckland have beaten Otago by four runs in the men's competition.

Craig Cachopa starred with 73 from 38 balls and Mitchell McClenaghan restricted the Volts to 12 off the final over.

The win takes the Aces into a clear third on the table.

A late strike from Kosta Barbarouses has salvaged an A-League point for the Melbourne Victory in a 3-all football draw with the Wellington Phoenix.

The Phoenix sit fifth on the table with 23 points.

Manchester City have eased past Huddersfield Town 3-nil in the English Premier League to return the deficit to leaders Liverpool to four points.

An agonising finish to the Tour Down Under for Kiwi cyclist Paddy Bevin.

He's failed to hold onto the leader's jersey, losing a seven-second advantage entering the final day and sliding to 41st.

Bevin crashed on stage five and was nursing bruised ribs during the final stage.

Lydia Ko holding on to a share of the lead early in the final round of the LPGA's Tournament of Champions in Florida.

Ko is even through her first four holes, to be 13-under.

Seven medals has seen New Zealand earn World Cup round winner honours at the track cycling event in Cambridge, with the world championships five weeks away in Poland.
