New Zealand's won after 20 minutes of extra time, after scores were level 45-all at the end of four quarters.
The two sides again couldn't be separated after the first two seven-minute periods of extra time, before New Zealand reached the required two goal buffer to win after six further minutes.
Captain Laura Langman says if they're faced with a scenario like that again at the World Cup, they'll know what to do.
She says it was cool to be put in that scenario as you can't replicate that situation in training.
New Zealand leaves the Quad Series with one win from three matches.
