The All Blacks hooker has re-signed with New Zealand Rugby and the Hurricanes until the end of 2021.
The 32-year-old has played 60 tests for the All Blacks but missed most of last season with injury.
The microscope has gone on New Zealand's one-day international opening partnership with seven further matches until the World Cup.
