    Questions about confidence in Auckland Council - again


    This comes after the Council has surrendered its self-granted Resource Consent for redevelopment of Mt Albert's Chamberlain Park.

    Judicial Review proceedings were filed in the High Court before Christmas against plans for the development of a new playground area on the existing golf course site.

    Save Chamberlain Park Chair Geoff Senescall says it raises questions around the Council's ability to grant itself a non-notified Resource Consent.

    He says it's scary from a public point of view that Council can just ignore the public.

    He says if the decision hadn't been questioned and contested - what would have happened?
