Police say the teenage cyclist killed in a crash in Hastings was Joshua Mou
31 January 2019
The 13-year-old's bike collided with a car on Railway Road on Monday - just hours after the boy had picked up his school uniform.
Joshua was taken to Hawke's Bay Hospital with critical injuries, where he later died.
He was supposed to start in his first year at Hastings Boys' High School this week.
Principal Rob Sturch has described Joshua as a bright and friendly boy, and says it's a shame the school will never get to know him better.
Police say their thoughts are with his family.
