Two Nelson men have been arrested for arson....but police are stressing the charges are NOT connected to the wildfires

A 27 year-old has been charged over three incidents in which rubbish skips around the CBD were set alight.

And a 24 year-old is facing charges relating to two arsons overnight.

One incident involved a skip being set alight behind a Nelson restaurant, and the other was a residential flat.

Police believe the two men are NOT known to each other, and acted independently.
