A small North Canterbury school has been placed under statutory management

Terri Johnstone has been appointed to Ohoka School - after the board of trustees and principal asked the ministry for support.

The Ministry of Education's Katrina Casey says it only intervenes as a last resort, when there is a risk that cannot be addressed in any other way.

Johnstone is experienced in leadership and governance and will work with the board and principal on communication and employment.
