Hamish Bond could end up transitioning to another form of cycling

The Olympic rowing champion has already found success as a track cyclist, breaking the national individual pursuit record in just his second race since switching from the road.

But with the IP not in the Olympics, Cycling NZ is looking to see him move into the team pursuit.

Men's endurance coach Matt Shallcrass says with the way Bond approaches cycling, it should suit him.

He says the encouraging and empowering thing about Bond, is that he's willing to start at the bottom and learn as much as he can.
