New research has associated cannabis with bad health outcomes - but it still can't hold a candle to the damage of legal alcohol

The Christchurch Health and Development Study suggests a strong link between using cannabis during adolescence, and developing major depression, anxiety and suicidal behaviour.
Giles Newton-Howes of the medical cannabis research collaboration says it's something which should help shape our referendum.
But he says it should also be put in perspective - with alcohol legally able to be consumed even though it's a carcinogen which lands thousands of people in our emergency wards.
