The FIH Pro Hockey League is a massive learning curve for the men's Black Sticks

The FIH Pro Hockey League is a massive learning curve for the men's Black Sticks

Three games into the tournament, New Zealand has lost two games and drawn once - in which they lost the penalty shootout.

Coach Darren Smith says the side is inexperienced, and that will only get amplified with established players Hugo Inglis and Steven Jenness back in Europe to play for their respective clubs.

New Zealand play sixth ranked Germany in Christchurch at 7pm.
