Sweeping changes are in the works for farmers leasing and using Crown land

Land Information Minister Eugenie Sage announced last week the Government plan to stop the controversial tenure review process - which saw land privatised and sold-on for big profits.
Today she announced there'd also be a clamp-down on rules for existing Crown properties.
Sage says previously the long-term effects of land use, particularly for farming, were not considered.
She says the Government has to consider its obligations to both farming and conservation - but the balance of where decisions are made is changing.
