Bob Carter only wants to be the White Ferns coach in an interim capacity

New Zealand Cricket's high performance coach will take the reins for the team's tour to Australia, starting Friday.

It follows Haidee Tiffen taking a leave of absence after the World Twenty20 review, which recommended all management roles be advertised at the completion of their contracts.

Tiffen described the review as confronting and challenging.
