Water restrictions have been lifted in Gisborne, after last week's leak

Water restrictions have been lifted in Gisborne, after last week's leak

The city came dangerously close to running out of water, after the main water supply pipeline started leaking last week.

Gisborne District Council says reservoirs have now refilled to a good level.

The council says sprinklers, hoses, car washing and other outdoor water use is permitted again.

But it's urging residents to continue conserving water to avoid further restrictions.
