Auckland council warns the public to not feed ducks at stormwater ponds and wetlands

The request follows reports of at least 50 ducks and swans being found dead or sick on Auckland's North Shore.
Auckland Council General Manager of Healthy Waters, Craig Mcilroy says it's probably because of avian botulism.
Mcilroy says when people feed duck bread, in hot conditions, it rots in ponds and promotes the growth of the bacteria.
