The American has closed with a five under par 66 to finish on 21 under par.
Johnson's playing partner Rory McIlroy finished outright second on 16 under.
Kiwi Ryan Fox has closed with a five-over-par 76 to finish on 11-over-par, in a tie for 67th.
The Kiwis will face the Kangaroos and the Kiwi Ferns will meet the Jillaroos in a trans-Tasman rugby league double-header at Wollongong on October 25.
