27 February 2019
Cristina Batang has admitted using the toy to hit the eight-year-old - who was in an altercation with another boy at Mt Richmond Special School in Otahuhu.
She has also admitted she regularly pulled children's hair in her class in 2016 - and once pulled a student's ear.
The Teachers Disciplinary Tribunal found her actions amounted to physical abuse and cancelled her teaching registration.
