A letter's been sent to Phil Goff and councillors, signed by 12 prominent Aucklanders- including Goldman Sachs' boss Andrew Barclay, Barfoot & Thompson director Kiri Barfoot and SKYCITY entertainment chair Rob Campbell.
Stop Stealing Our Harbour spokesperson, Michael Goldwater, says they're not happy with the city's asset being continually diminished.
He says these are hard-nosed business people who know the value of things, and they see Waitemata Harbour as a key asset.
Auckland Mayor Phil Goff says he remains supportive of the extension, as the cruise ship industry continues to benefit the local economy.
