After two days of rain, play is finally underway at the Basin Reserve, with New Zealand captain Kane Williamson winning the toss and choosing to bowl first.
After half an hour's play, Bangladesh are 30 without loss.
New Zealand have opted for a five-strong pace attack for the now three day test, with Matt Henry coming in for Todd Astle.
Williamson says over five days the spinners would likely come into play more, but with just three days to play, they felt Henry was the more aggressive option.
