Hawke's Bay is the latest region to be facing a bus driver shortage
12 March 2019
The regional council doesn't have enough permanent drivers to operate services across Napier and Hastings.
Council transport coordinator Megan Welsby says they're bringing in bus drivers from other districts within the region so services can continue.
She says they're managing at the moment, but only due to the goodwill of drivers who are stepping in to drive at short-notice.
Welsby says their shortage reflects a national trend with bus drivers.
