    A fire that was out of control south of Dunedin has been contained


    Two helicopters and eight fire crews were called to the blaze on a lifestyle block near Taieri Mouth this afternoon.

    The Otago Daily times reports the fire spread from a small controlled burn that got out of hand.

    A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said the fire was about at 300m wide at its peak.
