Two Canterbury schools and some early education centres have children with measles

28 cases are confirmed in the region, with another 20 cases being investigated.
Canterbury Medical Officer of Health Dr Ramon Pink says it's almost three weeks since the first case and the low number of cases reflects the importance of immunity in our community.
He says they have strong coverage of our under five age group and this has afforded significant protection.
Dr Pink says there've been significant challenges to getting vaccines to Canterbury.
