Meanwhile there's been a scare in Auckland - that turned out to be nothing

Police were notified of two bags leftunattended on Galway Street in central Auckland this evening shortly after 5pm.

Cordons were put in place and the Defence Force was notified.

A short time ago Defence Force personnel carried out a controlled explosion of the bags as a precautionary measure.

Police say they can now confirm the bags were not suspicious and contained scaffolding equipment.
