Vector is taking a 3.5 million dollar fine for excessive power outages on the chin

The High Court in Auckland imposed the penalty after the Commerce Commission found the company breached its power outage limits in 2015 and 2016.
Vector says the breaches weren't cynical or designed to get maximum profit.
It says it knows power outages can cause inconvenience and is working on improving.
