English and Welsh authorities face a bumpy road ahead to keep infrastructure up to scratch

An annual report has found highway maintenance costs in the two countries have increased year-on-year, with 24.5 million pounds spent repairing 1.86 million potholes.
That's a 20 percent increase year on year - or the equivalent of one pothole repaired every 17 seconds.
Authorities estimate one billion pounds will need to spent each year for the next decade to bring roads up to standard
