Mercury will construct 60 wind turbines at Turitea.
The farm's expected to generate enough energy in a year to power more than 200-thousand cars.
Chief Executive Fraser Whineray says the 250-billion dollar project will contribute to the country's low emissions future.
He says construction's set to begin in August.
