    A person has been killed when two cars crashed into a power pole in Horotiu, near Hamilton


    A spokesperson for Powersafe says roads are closed between River Road and Lake Road, and will be until around 6 tonight.

    He's confirmed one fatality.

    Earlier, police said nine people received minor injuries.

    WEL Networks is reporting 11 properties are without power.
