The pair copped the punishment in the first race for being over the start line, but claim the pin was moving.
Jones says it's a setback as there probably won't be as many races due to weather.
They won their second race but sit second-to-last in the standings.
Isaac McHardie and William McKenzie are the best placed Kiwis in the 49er - they're second after a win and a second.
Olympic champions Peter Burling and Blair Tuke are 31st.
