    The Toronto Maple Leafs and Carolina Hurricanes have notched up wins in the NHL ice hockey playoffs


    The Maple Leafs have beaten the Boston Bruins 3-2 to take a 2-1 lead in their best of seven series.

    The Hurricanes have thumped the Washington Capitals 5-nil to get on the board in their series but the Capitals lead 2-1.
