Major projects must never lose sight of the Big Picture

A cost revision of Auckland City Rail Link project has seen the project blow out more than a billion dollars - to nearly 4.42-billion.
That's up from the 2014 estimate of 3.4-billion-dollars.
Infrastructure New Zealand boss, Stephen Selwood, says planners shouldn't pitch low on a project, but should sell it on its benefits.
He says the most important driver of an investment is the value that's derived from the project.
