Central Otago's latest attraction is expected to drive thousands of petrol-heads into the region

The first ever Wheels at Wanaka event is kicking off this morning - a celebration of everything on wheels and treads.

It'll held every second year - alternating with famous air-show Warbirds Over Wanaka.

Manager Annabel Roy says they're all set up for success - as long as the weather cooperates.

She says they could see between five and ten thousand visitors each day.
