    A 39-year-old man has appeared in the Tauranga District Court - charged with the murder of 17-month-old Sadie-Leigh Gardner


    Adrian Clancy was declined name suppression, and has been remanded in custody until a May 22 appearance in the Tauranga High Court.

    Sadie-Leigh was taken to Starship Hospital, in Auckland, on March 27, with head injuries.

    It followed an incident at a Maungatapu Road address, in Tauranga.

    She died two days later.

    The results of the post mortem and medical examinations prompted police to treat Sadie-Leigh's death as a homicide.
