Watson's 96 from 53 balls has guided the Stephen Fleming-coached Chennai Super Kings to a seven-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Warner leads the competition with 574 runs - he's passed 50 in eight of his 10 innings after a 12-month suspension.
Chennai move to a two-point lead on 16 after 11 of their 14 matches.
