Two people died in a crash in Cambridge in Waikato.
The smash happened on Cambridge Road, around 20 to two this afternoon.
One person remains in Waikato hospital in a serious condition.
And a driver's in a serious condition, after fleeing from police in Whakatane.
Their car crashed just a few minutes after failing to stop for officers, around 20 past 6 this evening.
A person was also pulled up for drink driving after loudly revving their car through a Taranaki Anzac dawn service.
They drove through a road closure in Stratford - just metres from where commemorations were taking place.
The chaos follows a fatal overnight - where a woman died when her car hit a a tree in Napier about 10pm.
