Sri Lankan officials have revised the death toll from the Easter Sunday bombings down by about 100

Authorities have blamed the difficulty in identifying body parts at bomb scenes for the earlier inaccurate number.
They now believe 253 people died in the bombings.
The government has admitted a major intelligence lapse, after failing to act on warnings of an attack.
