    Kiwi sailor Sam Meech has made a strong start to his latest regatta in France


    The Rio Olympic bronze medallist has won both of his Laser races overnight at the French Olympic Week regatta in Hyeres to have the overall lead after day one.

    It's his first campaign of the European season, after sitting out the Palma and Genoa regattas in recent weeks.

    Tom Saunders is the next best kiwi in 17th.
