Masterton woman to be sentenced next month for drink driving conviction after crash killed eight year old girl
A Masterton woman will be sentenced next month for her conviction of drink driving, after a crash that killed an eight year old girl
2 May 2019
The 35 year old had driven to a popular swimming hole, near Kaituna, with three children and another adult in the car.
She lost control on an unsealed section of road approaching a bend - and told police she'd swerved to avoid a rabbit.
She admitted having consumed up to six vodka cruisers.
The Wairarapa Times Age reports it's her fourth drink driving offence, and she was unlicensed at the time.
The woman's been granted interim name suppression.
