Taupo's mayor is doing everything he can to lift the spirits of a grieving community

Taupo's mayor is doing everything he can to lift the spirits of a grieving community

Sixteen people have lost their lives on Taupo district roads in just over a month.

The most recent tragedy left three dead when a truck and a van collided early yesterday morning.

David Trewavas says he's been dropping off morning tea and meeting with first responders to offer any support he can.

He says some emergency services staff don't come back to their job after horror stints like this.
