The plaques from Springston Cemetery, on the outskirts of Christchurch, were reported missing to police 11 days ago.
Police recovered 17 of them at the weekend - after they were sold to a scrap metal dealer.
A woman was arrested yesterday after allegedly selling another 32 plaques to a second scrap dealer.
She has been charged with theft and is due to appear in Christchurch District Court today.
