    The owner of a West Coast helicopter company that suffered a fatal crash? has apologised to families


    Alpine Adventures owner, James Scott has also voluntarily given 875-thousand-dollars to the families of the seven victims.

    It's more than three years since 28-year-old Queenstown helicopter pilot, Mitch Gameron, and six-tourists died? when a scenic Fox Glacier flight plunged into a crevasse.

    Scott - and systems manager, Barry Waterland, are being sentenced under the Health and Safety Act in Christchurch District Court.

    Scott spoke to families in court today, saying he's very sorry for what's happened - which was acknowledged by Gameron's brother, Brett, with a nod.

    Scott says he's happy to talk with any families in restorative justice.
