The search has resumed for a person missing after a jet boat overturned on the West Coast

One man was rescued after the accident on the Taramakau River yesterday afternoon, but another remains unaccounted for.

Four jetboats with Surf Rescue personnel on board, and four ground crews are searching the area between the Taramakau bridge and Kumara-Inchbonnie Road.

It is understood the two men in the boat were not wearing lifejackets or wetsuits.
