A treatment that's being trialled for allergic asthma could eventually mean sufferers won't have to be on drugs for life

The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research in Australia has been looking at a treatment that targets the cause of the disease, rather than just masking its symptoms.
Lead researcher Rhys Allan says they've used a cancer drug to effectively eliminate the allergy.
He says they hope the drug will be able to permanently switch off the cells causing the reaction.
