It's deja vu for the family of Nicky Stevens, who took his own life while in mental health care

It's deja vu for the family of Nicky Stevens, who took his own life while in mental health care

Waitemata DHB will review its He Puna Waiora mental health unit, after two patients died in one week.

It's similar to what happened in 2015, when 21-year-old Nicky Stevens was found dead three days after disappearing from Waikato Hospital - despite his family warning staff of his desire to commit suicide.

His father, Dave McPherson says these recent deaths show nothing has changed, and families still aren't being listened to.
