An enormous win for the sexual violence sector and survivors

That's the call from support networks after the Government announced 320-million dollars towards breaking the cycle of family and sexual violence.

Around a third of that is going towards assisting sexual violence support services.

Wellington sexual abuse HELP general manager Conor Twyford says the investment's nearly four times as much funding as they've previously received.

She says it'll go a long way to delivering a better service.

Twyford says there'll be some devil in the detail, but it's a huge step forward.
