    Dairy prices have fallen for the first time this year

    Overall prices have dropped 1.2 percent at Fonterra's latest Global Dairy Trade auction.

    Whole milk powder is down 2.1 percent following its recent high.

    Butter prices have had a significant fall -- down 3.2 percent from a fortnight ago.

    Skim milk powder is down 0.5 percent.
